Jason Hoffmann is a principal engineer with more than 25 years of underground design and construction experience, predominantly in the rail transit, mining, highway, water supply, and wastewater sectors. He started the company in 2005.
Jason’s career has taken him from TBM drives and deep rock caverns to cut-and-cover boxes beneath operating city streets, and from construction phase engineering on live sites to the early feasibility questions that decide whether a tunnel is viable at all.
He founded Hoffman Tunnels on a conviction that has shaped the firm ever since: the engineers who design a tunnel should understand what it takes to build one. That is why our design reviews are run by people who have stood on a drive face, why our project teams include construction managers as well as designers, and why we would rather tell a client that something is not feasible than win work we cannot deliver.
Under Jason’s leadership the practice has grown to more than 350 people, working out of our head office in München and delivering tunnel and underground engineering in the transportation, water, wastewater, and energy sectors.
